Samosas:

A very famous Indian street treat, samosas are triangle-shaped fried pastry stuffed with meat or spiced vegetables. They are usually vegetarian and often served with sweet-sour tamarind chutney or tangy chili chutney.

Pav Bhaji:

A traditional street stall dishes native to Maharashtra, India. Pav, a small loaf of bread served with Bhjai, a vegetable dish is combined for a quick meal and served with butter or cheese. This spicy blend of vegetables in tomato gravy is a street favorite.

Kebabs:

Kebabs are the most popular Indian street appetizers. They are typically made with minced meat and spices. Lamb is the most popular, however, other meat varieties include goat, chicken, and beef. Kebabs originated in Royal kitchens and were first served in Mogul Courts in the Middle East. They are usually served with Chutneys or dips. Chole Bature:

Chole Bhature is a popular breakfast from Punjabi Cuisine and a famous snack in North India. This exotic mouth-watering dish is a spicy and crispy puffed Bhatura (bread) that is often paired with hot & spicy Chole (Chickpea and tomato curry).

Vada Pav:

Mumbai’s famous roadside burger that originated out of Maharashtra in Western Indian, is a potato filling made with a variety of spices including chilies and garlic, which is then deep fried in gram flour batter and wrapped in sweetened bread. This vegetarian dish offers sweet, green, or hot and spicy garlic chutney. Vada Pav is also called Vada Pao. Dabeli is another version of Vada Pav.

Kachori:

Popular in India and Pakistan, Khasta Kachori is an Indian street food recipe that is prepared with maida and a spicy lentil based stuffing or spicy moon dal mixture. This delicious fried puffed pastry is served as breakfast or an appetizer and often accompanied by Green Chutney or Tamarind Chutney. Khasta means flaky. Kachori is a ball of fried dough.

Chaat or Aloo Tikki:

Another famous Indian street food available in most all Indian villages and cities, Chaat originated in northern India, in the state of Uttar Pradesh. This tasty evening snack is very well known in Agra and Mathura, although the taste can differ from city to city. Other variations of Chaat are Papri Chaat,Aloo Chaat, and Dahi Chaat. Chaat is raw fruits and vegetables in a spicy sauce served in crisp fried bread.

Vendors in India literally crowd the streets selling all kinds of delicious variations of Chaat. It is a great alternative to a sit-down dinner.

Bhelpuri (Bhel Puri):

A very popular Mumbai street food that is said to have originated in Maharashtra.

Ingredients used to make Bhel are tomatoes, onions, chilies sev, chaat, masala and chutney. The type of chutney used is responsible for a sweet, tangy or spicy flavor. Bhel Puri or Bhel is a savory snack item like Chaat, made out of puffed rice, onion, potato and a tangy tamarind sauce.

For wet bhel puri, chutneys are added, and for dry they are not.

Other names of this snack are Dahi puri, Sevpuri ,Papdi chaat, Jhaal Muri ,Churumuri , and a dry version is popularly known as Bhadang in Maharashtra.

Mirchi Bajji:

A delectable Indian street food from South India made of potato and chili stuffing. This street treat holds several names, some of which include Mirchi Bada or Mirapakaya Bajji , and others like Mirchi Bhaje, Bhajiya, Bhaji, Bonda, Pakora, Milagai Bajji or Bajji. Bajji are served with tomato sauce, and mint or tamarind chutney.

Idli Sambhar:

This is a very popular breakfast and evening snack. Sambhar is a vegetable stew or broth made with onions, garlic, and seasonal vegetables like okra, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, and radishes.
Idli is a South Indian savory cake. Idlis can be soaked in Sambhar or stuffed with a masala vegetable filling.

Sambhar is garnished with a fried spice mixture made from curry leaves, mustard seeds, chili, coriander seeds and tamarind.

Pani Puri:

This popular must try sweet and tangy street snack is filled with spicy water, chickpeas and potatoes. Puffy and crisp fried shells are cooked after soaking in pitchers of water mixed with Indian spices.

Pani Puri is originated from Bihar, the Magadh region of India.

Other known names of Pani puri are Dahi puri and Sev Puri, among many others.
